Blue Shield Georgia team consists of heritage professionals, heritage activists and volunteers
Manana is a graduate of international master’s course in World Heritage Studies at Brandenburg University of Technology. She has over 10 years of experience working in cultural heritage management in Georgia. Her experience ranges from working for the public sector (Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Department of Culture, UNESCO National Commission and the Georgian National Museum) to private sector (Contemporary Arts center and residence Art Villa Garikula) and academia (Tbilisi State Academy of Arts and Ilia State University.)
Mariam is a painting restorer, she has been working on conservation/restoration of easel and mural paintings since 2006. She joined Georgian National Committee of the Blue Shield in 2013 and in 2015 participated in a course on First Aid to Cultural Heritage in Times of Crisis, organised by ICCROM (The International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property). Lela Ninoshvili is a graduate of Tbilisi State Academy of Fine Arts and Rome La Sapienza University, specializing in conservation/restoration of stone and preservation of historic wall paintings. Since 2012 she has been working at ICOMOS Georgia as a project coordinator and wall painting/stone conservator. Lela is a member of GNCBS and is actively involved in planning and implementation of the projects, especially of those concentrated on needs of built heritage. The reason for lela to become a member of GNCBS is her interest in cultural heritage protection mechanisms in emergencies and in practical measures to be undertaken for safeguarding heritage (especially built heritage) during crisis.
