The international conference “Protection of Cultural Heritage in the Occupied Territories: Georgia and International Experience” will be held on June 24-25. The conference will be held entirely online. National Georgian Committee of the Blue Shield is a partner organisation in this project.

The project is implemented with the full financial support of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia. The conference is organized by: Giorgi Chubinashvili National Research Center for Georgian Art History and Heritage Preservation; Korneli Kekelidze Georgian National Center of Manuscripts and Ivane Javakhishvili Institute of History and Ethnology at Tbilisi State University.

The two-day conference will present international examples of cultural heritage protection in the occupied territories. Specialists from Ukraine, England, the United States and Georgia will talk about their experience in this field and their vision for the future.

The conference will be attended by Peter Stone, Director of the International Committee of the Blue Shield and other members of the Committee, including the Chairman for Georgian National Committee of the Blue Shield – Manana Tevzadze.
