On November 11, in the Art House in Gori, Georgian National Committee of Blue Shield organized a stakeholder meeting on the development of a disaster risk management plan for the Sergi Makalatia Historical and Ethnographic Museum in Gori.
During the meeting, the participants got acquainted with the working version of the disaster risk management plan for the Sergi Makalatia Historical and Ethnographic Museum in Gori and discussed its content. This plan will be the first document of its kind for a regional museum in Georgia.
The meeting was attended by representatives of both local and central government and the non-governmental sector. Attendees spoke about the importance of the plan, reviewed the submitted risk analysis document, and participated in a group exercise – developing potential disaster scenarios for the museum. The results of the exercise revealed new priorities and needs that will be integrated into the plan by Blue Shield and the museum team.
The meeting was held within the framework of the project “Planning of measures necessary for the protection of Gori cultural heritage.”
