Islamic monuments in Samtskhe-Javakheti: The lost history
On December 13th, 2016 a round-table presentation on the topic “Islamic monuments in Samtskhe-Javakheti: The lost history”, was held at the Blue Shield Georgia office. Photo documentation of the mosques from several villages in Samtkhe-Javakheti region, some listed as monuments, was presented. Presentation gave an insight into artistic and historic importance of these monuments as well as general attitude of the society and the authorities.
The presentation was part of a series of round-table discussion on cultural heritage issues organized by Blue Shield Georgia with support of Swedish Institute and in cooperation with “Cultural Heritage Without Borders”
